Both Spring musical concerts in the past two weeks have gone off without a hitch! A special shout-out to our talented musical performers! For those of you that were able to attend, you were able to experience middle and high school groups showcase the work they have put into music over the last semester. You might remember songs from Broadway, Lord of the Rings, and Sleeping Beauty. Mrs. Hashem, a member of the audience for one of the performances, commented on how interesting it was to see these students show their talents beyond the classroom. She said, “The music was beautiful, but it was even more exciting to see students inhabit this space that I don’t usually see them in.” Not only did the audience receive a wonderful night, the musicians were able to feel the music, as well.
The Spring Concert also allows students to showcase one aspect of LCA culture that sometimes does not receive as much coverage when compared to sports or other extracurricular activities. One musician commented, “We always talk about sports teams, but we rarely discuss the bonds formed between musicians as they play together through the years.” Although the musical aspect of our school is sometimes less heavily viewed or advertised when compared to other LCA activities, it is an area that deserves the opportunity to showcase its amazingly talented members. Those talents were used to the fullest over two wonderful Thursdays.
If you did not have a chance to see our wonderful performers in this concert, come out for ArtsFest on May 24!
