Whom Shall I Fear?

By Caleb Hong, Spiritual Life Division Head.

Psalm 4:8 In peace I will lie down in rest for you alone make me dwell in safety.

So when I was he was younger, my little brother was afraid of many things. Almost all of them were very irrational, like who worries about volcanoes in New England? He was afraid of everything from paper cuts to a nuclear meltdown next to our house. It’s natural that we as humans are afraid sometimes of potential threats to our health and safety. But often, we let those worries overwhelm us instead of looking to our source of peace and refuge. God is always there to comfort us and give us peace whenever we are anxious or worried. Whenever we are stressed or afraid, we can look to him for he is greater than the fears that we have. God is in complete control and has a plan; it may not be what we want and it may be hard, but it is the best for us.

I pray that we will be able to let God take control and rest in his refuge.
