As of Friday, January 31st, LCA welcomed a brand new member to our highly competitive, “1000 point club”. Cara Andreotti, a senior and star basketball player for LCA drained her 1000th point at the infamous Battle of Lexington and Concord. Cara is the second girl in two years to reach this milestone, and only the third girl ever in LCA history. Cara’s name will be added to the banner, leaving her outstanding legacy in the Miles M. Strodel gym for years to come.

Cara’s extensive basketball career has led her to her 1000th point. She started playing basketball in 3rd grade on a travel team for her hometown, Everett, MA. Cara went on to play Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball in middle school for Basketball to the Limit, where she still plays. Cara came to LCA her freshman year ready to make her mark. For all four years of her highschool career, Cara has been a starter and key player for the Varsity girls basketball team. Cara is a mean point guard with impressive handles and speed. Cara has received multiple honors throughout her highschool career, such as, EIL Honorable Mention in 9th and 10th grade, EIL All League in 11th grade, and NEPSAC All Star 9th, 10th, and 11th grade. Cara was also named team co-MVP in 11th grade. Cara is an integral part of the LCA girls varsity basketball team; it would not be the same without her. She is a passionate and vocal leader on the team, but also a kind teammate always willing to help someone out and passionately cheer on other players. Coach Schmidt says of Cara, “Cara is one of the hardest working, most dedicated athletes I have ever coached, she truly deserved this milestone in her career.”

Cara’s unparalleled hard work and effort was demonstrated at the Battle as the huge crowd went wild, screaming her name and holding up signs that read, “1000”. The moment was truly special and unforgettable. As the three point shot flew through the hoop, Cara’s team instantly stormed her and lifted her up victoriously!
